TYPES OF MASSAGE
TMJ Massage (included in a 50 min session)
(please inform therapist that you would like TMJ)
TMJ massage uses a combination of TMJ myofascial release techniques, trigger point therapy and remedial massage to help relieve fascial and TMJ pain. The massage will start by releasing the muscles in the upper back, neck, shoulders and chest, which helps to relax the areas surrounding the temporomandibular joint. The treatment is subtle, relaxing and effective.
Prenatal Massage
(50 min session)
Prenatal massage is similar to a Swedish massage except performed with a few modifications that ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. Each massage is specialized with specific techniques that are tailored to benefit you and your growing baby. These techniques include a slow pace, specific positioning, and gentle pressure that can help relieve muscle tension and pain during pregnancy.
Sports Massage
(50 min session)
Sports massage is customized to accommodate each patient and can help increase flexibility, prevent injuries, improve performance, increase endurance, and help with healing after a sports injury.
Swedish Massage
(50 min OR 75 min OR 110 min sessions available)
Swedish massage is built for the client seeking full-body attention with some site-specific tension relief. These sessions are a balance of relaxation and focused tissue work to areas of minor stiffness and tension. Using the client’s desired pressure (light, medium or firm), broad stroke techniques (with the use of lotion) are utilized with some site-specific focus to provide full-body relaxation and integration.
Deep Tissue Massage
(50 min session)
Deep tissue massage uses sustained pressure by applying deep strokes to target the inner layers of the muscles and connective tissues. This helps to alleviate stiffness and pain by eliminating knots and breaking up scar tissue that forms following an injury. Additionally, this method reduces tension in the muscles and surrounding tissue. Various techniques are used during the session including, but not limited to, trigger point therapy, hot stones, cupping, myofascial release and friction massage. (Please note: this session is not for relaxation or stress relief)
Extended Treatment
(75 min OR 110 min sessions available)
Extended Treatment gives the client the option to combine the Swedish and Deep Tissue massages. Working with the therapist to identify the client’s preferences, the treatment time will be individualized to their needs.
